Time to make the Minis... for JetBlue! Back to New Hampshah .

Amazing news!! We have just SOLD OUT of our second batch of MARYS!! Now, we’re headed back to the East Coast to make our 3rd batch of MINI MARY.  It’s, by far, the largest batch we’ve ever made!  Our first “big batch” of 1000 gallons was made in a co-packing facility in 2020.  Prior to co-packing, we were making every batch by hand.  I remember the very first batch that was bigger than one glass.  Poor Corrie was stuck in the kitchen making Marys, one-at-a-time for hours every Sunday.  So, after the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl back in 2010, thanks to all of Corrie’s efforts no doubt, we decided that the next year we’d be smarter and batch out a pitcher at a time rather than a glass.  One pitcher at a time seemed enormous, then one bottle, then one gallon, then 5 gallons, and now, almost 17 years into a Saints losing streak that has earned them the moniker “The Aints”, and 12 years into MiddleBar’s business development, we are on the brink of the largest batch to date : 10,000 gallons pressed into 150,000 7.5oz seek, chic aluminum cans ready to be served at 35,000 feet.

So, what is it like to produce this many cans of our award-winning MIDDLEBAR MARY?

Honestly, it’s terrifying and exhilarating, inspiring and heavy.  Our company’s reputation is only as good as our last batch.  If this batch can be hand-crafted to be absolutely delicious with and without booze, then we’ve done our job.  People will love it, and we’ll make their flight more comfortable and enjoyable, maybe even help them spark connection with a neighbor.  If, in all the industrial weighing and measuring, something goes south, then maybe people won’t be made happier, and maybe that won’t be a greater good.  So, we’re excited, and also very focused on our craft.  We aim to deliver the best Bloody in the skies and on the ground.

As a personal note, it’s hard to describe the way we feel about this moment.  MiddleBar always feels so miraculous to us.  Beautiful, interesting, amazing things seem to come our way, and this has been true all along from MiddleBar’s inception to today.  We used to host our friends and neighbors in the middle room of our shotgun style apartment, and now we are getting ready to serve tens of thousands of travelers every month aboard a very cool airline.  More details to come on that, but for today, we are sooooooooooooo sooooooooooooo grateful and honored to serve y’all.

Cheers
